@Geist: I'll admit that I handled it heavy-handedly, but you can blame that on:

  • being handled that way when I was new to wikis.
  • the fact that most wikis I've edited handle situations in a similar fashion, which I have adapted to.

I was just simply informing her of her mistake; new users won't learn anything if they aren't informed of the mistakes they're already making.

Also, I don't understand as much as you give me credit for. I said that in the comment above (about new users being treated as if they know nothing) because it has happened to me before; users automatically think that since you're new, they can just undo your edits, because they think you don't know anything (and they usually don't even leave a reason for undoing your edits).
