Simon inside the third floor of the Dunwall Courier offices.

"Only a dolt would threaten the man who runs a newspaper."
—Simon to the corrupt guard

Simon, also known as the Dunwall Courier Printer, is a minor character featured in Dishonored 2. He is a citizen of Dunwall and the Chief Editor at the Dunwall Courier.

After the Crown Killer murders began in Dunwall, Simon, with information obtained from a corrupt City Watch guard, wrote articles about the Crown Killer – linking the murders to Empress Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano.

Dishonored 2[]

During Delilah Copperspoon's coup, the same guard that gave the information to Simon enters the offices, demanding that Simon publishes an article which names Delilah as the true Empress, while denouncing Corvo and Emily as traitors. Simon refuses, having doubts about the information and regretting having published the Crown Killer story in the first place. The corrupt guard threatens to kill Simon due to his opposition to publish articles in favor of Delilah's coup. The protagonist can save Simon by killing or knocking out the corrupt guard before he kills the Editor. If Simon is saved, he promises the protagonist that he will write an article detailing the true story of the coup.

If he survives the coup, either by being saved, or the protagonist not visiting the third floor of the Dunwall Courier, Simon can be encountered again at the Dunwall Courier offices on the protagonist's return to Dunwall. Here, the protagonist invites him up to Dunwall Tower to conduct an interview and publish the truth after dealing with Delilah.

  • If the corrupt guard is attacked, Simon will always flee to one of the two nearby rooms. He will eventually calm down, allowing the protagonist to talk to him.
  • Saving Simon unlocks the achievement Freedom of Speech. This also counts as a special action for the mission A Long Day in Dunwall.
  • His name can be discovered in a note found on the right desk of the cubicle opposite to the storage room inside the third floor of the Dunwall Courier offices, in the same room where he first appears.
