Rats

A pack of rats, shying away from the light.

Rats are carriers of the Rat Plague, spreading the disease which infects the inhabitants of the city of Dunwall.

They can be encountered throughout the world, both in swarms and alone. They are aggressive when in large numbers (the larger their number, the more emboldened they become), and may attack people, including Corvo, if the target seems appealing enough. However, they are cowardly in smaller numbers. They congregate in dark places, and wherever corpses can be found. Although they are deterred by floodlights, and walls of light, they will notice if these fail, and investigate the newly-available areas. They avoid light, and large gatherings of people.

Corvo has two supernatural abilities that take advantage of these animals: Possession, and Devouring Swarm.
