Movement

Corvo freerunning

Corvo freerunning across buildings.

Corvo has a wide range of mobility. He can mantle, lean, slide, sneak, sprint, jump, and swim.

Certain supernatural abilities further widen the scope of his movement.

Combat

Corvo always uses his right hand for melee weapons, while his left hand wields ranged weapons or supernatural abilities.

Melee combat is intricate, and consists of slashes, stabs, blocks and parries with a sword .

Stealth kills fill up an adrenaline gauge, which, when full, can be used to increase combat prowess. However, stealth kills are only possible if the target is unaware of Corvo. If a target is aware of Corvo, they are significantly more

difficult to dispatch.

Ranged combat is available with the crossbow and pistol, each of which have various kinds of ammunition which are particular to them.

Corvo also has at his disposal, gadgets which can be used during combat, including spring razors and grenades.

Stealth

The options for stealth gameplay in Dishonored are broad and varied. The movement options (above) enable Corvo to make his way silently through the world.

Silent attacks are possible, and can be either lethal or non-lethal. Examples of lethal sneak attacks include aerial executions executed from above a target, slitting someone's throat, or stabbing them from behind; while non-lethal options are available in the form of tranquiliser darts and sleeper holds. Once a target has been dealt with, Corvo can move the body, and secret it so it isn't discovered by others.

Keyhole

Corvo is able to peer through keyholes as part of the stealth play.

Other actions that complement stealth play include eavesdropping, peering through keyholes, and the ability to blow out candles.

Further aid is available in the form of two items, the stealth boots and the Heart.

Hiding in shadows renders Corvo virtually invisible, even if he is in the direct line of sight of unaware enemies.
