Morris Sullivan, also known as the Royal Interrogator (or simply the Torturer), is a secondary target during Corvo Attano's assassination of the Lord Regent, Hiram Burrows, in the mission Return to the Tower.

He is a sadistic mute who secretly worships the Outsider in the basement of Dunwall Tower with his pet wolfhound, where he can be seen repeatedly beating a corpse.

He is one of the toughest enemies in the game. His faith makes him immune to most of Corvo's supernatural abilities, and he possesses the ability to drag Corvo towards him, much like the assassins. His thick skin makes the sword, crossbow and spring razor less effective, and he is immune to frontal fatal attack. Contrary to his passive ability, his attacks are somewhat simple; he swings a heated metal bar like a sword and does not dodge, block or kick, though his health does allow him to deal a lot of damage to Corvo before he can be dispatched. It is recommended to use stealth to eliminate him.

Trivia

  • He is revealed to be affiliated with Granny Rags in a letter from her.
  • When examined with the Heart, it is found out that his name is Morris Sullivan, born from a rich family who married cousins for generations.
  • His unnatural resistance to harm could be to be a gift from the Outsider like Corvo's similar ability, Vitality.
  • He is immune to sleep darts, though he can be choked out if Corvo sneaks up on him.
  • Incendiary darts damage him, but he does not catch fire and burn up as other targets do.
  • If you choke him out rather than kill him, you will be credited with "Defeated the Lord Regent's Torturer" at mission end.
  • Despite his resistance to some of Corvo's other abilities, Sullivan is susceptible to Possession II.
