Man, which witch is witch. Seems like five minutes ago. I was fairly inconsistent back then, when it came to turning up daily, so the counter was constantly resetting. I figured I'll have a decent go, this time round, at hitting the 365, I mean, really how hard can it be? =\
As long as I'm loving the editing and the games I'll be here so expect to see a fair bit of me =)
About using line breaks: Why always this urge to be nitpicky about those stupid line breaks vs. spaces? As mentioned before, unless it is a poem, I don't see much of a difference when I look at the pages, so I don't see need for line breaks when a space does basically the same trick. If people wanna go through the hassle of making those stupid things everywhere, let them.
You! You're the choffer that undid that humorous edit I made on the Devouring Swarm page! What, you got a problem with eating rats? Does consuming the Dunwall delicacy make you queasy inside? You must be from Serknos. Or one of those other isles!
In all seriousness I don't mind. My first reaction was come on! But then I went it's okay. I just wished the rules could be bent sometimes for a good laugh.
P.S. I read up your profile. And my mind just immediately went to Gale Boetticher (from Breaking Bad). You really read a lot like him! Hope you don't cook meth in your spare time and concoct libertarian justifications for doing it!
The most random message you'll get from the Internet today.
There is an abundance of humor among contributors here, on the wiki, in comments sections, and in blogs; humor is fun! But if we start adding comical references to articles where do we draw the line? What's acceptable humor and what isn't? What if something's deemed funny by one person and bland by another? We have to set a precedent and stick to it for the sake of clarity and rigor.
The breaking bad reference is wasted on me as I've never seen it, sorry.
Also, join chat once in a while, when chat gets full, it's a great laugh.
That's a strong argument you have there. You're right about the slippery slope aspect to the humor. Think of all the edit wars that could needlesly erupt!
If you haven't watched Breaking Bad...well--to put it politely--go fucking watch it! It's like the 'War and Peace' of television drama (which incidentally I should read). Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
Two questions: how and where do you join the chat session? I'm not gathering with you guys unless you got whiskey and cigars!
Secondly, I have an issue that I need help with. Here goes: I have a .bmp image that I'm trying to upload to the wiki. But the site just won't let me! I get the message "Incorrect file type extension" Now that's frustrating! I tried to attach and send the image to you but Wikia tells me that I'm uploading an "illegal file type." Wtf. Any ideas how to resolve this?
In case you're wondering why I changed [[Arc Pylon|Arc Pylons]] back to [[Arc Pylon]]s, it seems that wikia does this automatically; I didn't manually revert it. Hmm.. didn't realise that wikia did this until now..
hey, this is just a reminder to please preview your edits before submitting them. It can be difficult to follow all that's been changed on a page when there are several small edits in a short amount of time, so please keep that in mind. Thanks.
Hey no problem. Dishonored is a much richer game than most people give it credit for... bits of history, hints of lore, so much depth to the most minor of characters... and a classic yet epic tale of betrayal and revenge, or in the case of Daud, darkness and redemption.
Anybody that helps contribute to that is always welcome and valued.
Yeah, I completely agree, Dishonored is an extremely rich and immersive experience. It's richness, though, doesn't seem to shout in your face; you have to go looking for a lot of it, often before it comes looking for you. I think this is undoubtedly a strength of Dishonored, but often the point, too, where Dishonored may become misunderstood by the fleet footed often wishing to fly through the game--which is sad. While telling people what they should include in their playthrough goes against the ethos of the game, those people neglecting the journals, the notes, the heart, histroy, etc., are missing out on an extreemly valuable part of the experience.
Anyway, there's been so much spadework put into this wiki, it felt good to give a little back. =)
