  • Sorry for some reason my original message never was sent. I understand your point and see it, but I fell if there is a redlink there at least, then a user that has the source in front of them can create the page for the time being.

    Cheers.

  • Just giving my two cents here, but I think the bolded sub-headers are more appropriate as it's easier to notice. The other wikis I visit usually do this as well.

    Example: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dragonslayer

    • The text for them is already larger than the main body, so I don't really see it as needed.

    • It's too messy and it blends in with the wall of text. When the wall of text is too large, it's better to bold the headers to make it stand out more. :)

    • Hmm...

Personally, I'm not accustomed to adding bolding or any kind of text effects in between the text and the = symbols.

I'll have to give it a thought.

  • I purposely deleted the part in character pages about "a character featured in Dishonored" b/c this is the Dishonored wiki obviously any character is featured in Dishonored....why put "is a character featured in Dishonored"?

      Loading editor
    • What happens if there is a sequel or a piece of branching media?

Wouldn't you need to specify where they are mentioned?

        Loading editor
    • I see your logic...but at the same time...IMO for now we dont need "is a character featured in Dishonored"...at least until we get a Dishonored 2.

I mean no disrespect just trying to contribute as much as possible...and that requires communication. Just putting my input as a contributor in. :)

    • True, but I figure for the time being, it helps to stretch out some of the character's opening paragraphs, or else there won't be much there.

  • Hi Slate, I was just wondering if you could help me out with writing the MoS. Once we get this one down, we can get Makatak or Outsider to add the policies to the main page, and people can stop writing in present tense >.<

    • Gabriel Auditore wrote: stop writing in present tense >.<

it's already been discussed, gabriel. While it's appropriate for ACWiki, given the series' idea that the game timeline and our own is the same one, past tense is not the correct form for THIS wiki.

Dishonored never happened. It is a thing in which events occur. It is therefore subject to proper informational discourse, which is present tense.

    • I see. Well, if present tense is going to be the norm, then I suggest that someone update the policy on the matter. We still need the policies on the main page so new users know what to do and more importantly, what not to do ;)

  • thanks for the help in getting those books pages up to par....at the current moment I'm mainly just trying to get the pages up with their corresponding transcript and maybe the first location I found the book....please continue to do the tweeks you have been...it is a tremendous help. thanks again.

    • No problem. I'm just looking over the articles from the Recent Changes feed, and I check on those that have been updated and made since I slept and see what can be done to improve them.

Thanks for adding the book articles though. :)

  • Hi Slate.

I've noticed all the work you've been doing lately, and I would like to thank you. You have done many good edits recently, and I believe if you keep this up Makatak might reward you with something bigger than a simple thanks.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Slate. I would just wondering if there was any chance that you could create some kind of signal that would alert people that a page contains spoilers? If not, could you wait a while before adding too much info to pages? I am very conscious of the fact that not everybody has played or completed the game. I, myself, only got the game an hour ago, so I haven't played it yet.

    Thanks Slate!

    • I'm not really a genius when it comes to making templates, I personally just copy some code and change it where needed.

If you'd like, I can ask Vatsa if he can make something, considering the game has just released.

        Loading editor
    • I would very much like that. Thank you.
