I see you've got your work cut out for your doing renders over at the AC wiki, but I was wondering if you'd be willing to take a couple on from us in the near future. Essie's working on getting fully-body shots for some characters, so I wanted to ask you pre-emptively if you think you might have the time.
Hi, Gabe. I've got a new idea for an avatar & it's not too difficult. So with the new anouncement of the Freedom Cry DLC for ACIV, I have become quite fond of Adewale. So I was wondering if you could make me a new avatar with my usual background & this new image. Could you make the image of Adewale be cut off at about chest height; similar to the one I have now with Daud?
Got a few comments on that. First of all; anon bans should be shorter than regular user bans (depending on severity) as anons are tracked by IP addresses, which can change frequently. Also, that page needs to be renamed to Dishonored Wiki: Rules of Conduct (with the colon), that adds it as a subpage.
Most wikis do it the other way round, since IPs change (very frequently). While a registered user is directly identified as the person who committed the offence, this does not apply to IPs. It could easily turn out that the offender got a different IP and the IP that's been blocked ended up with someone who's never done anything here. Trust me on this one; it's happened numerous times before.
Still, we shouldn't discriminate on short notice. I understand your point on repeat offenders, and wholeheartedly support giving them the extended banhammer; but this shouldn't be the norm for all blocks, since the ban also prevents IPs from creating accounts, which could technically block out new users from the wiki.
I think we have to agree to disagree on this point.
I feel that the policy as i wrote it DISCOURAGES anonymous shenanigans, and acts as an incentive to create an account.
The rules were posted and had an open debate period, which was admittedly very low in participation, then made official.
So, yeah, get some more weigh-in on the topic and if enough of the others think your idea is better, then change it. I just think that we have to be harsher on anon because the user is hiding behind the number, instead of putting a name we can more easily keep track of
