As I said, Badge-hunting is frowned upon here, and you quite literally just admitted to doing this post on someone's page not to add anything to the conversation or advance the wiki, but just so you could "get a badge".
Citing this as an example, I'm asking that we keep potential spoilers regarding The Return of Daud out of the Comments sections of pages for a bit.
It's been less than two weeks since the novel's release and I would like to refrain from putting random comments on articles that might ruin the experience for some readers. If you wish to add something to an article, or expand upon The Return of Daud main article itself, then that is fine. If something you add seems too spoilery, it may be removed, but I think it is a better solution to just random comments.
I do appreciate you asked before adding the item, and understand why you did it. It's just that we had this problem a lot with Dishonored 2 and would prefer that the same situation not to occur again.
Okay. I had hoped putting a specific spoiler warning at the top of the comment would have been enough (unless I read that linked blog post incorrectly, it just asks not to post spoilers in comments without warning), but if you think otherwise, fine by me. Better safe than sorry I guess, and keeping potential spoilers completely out of everything, with or without warning, certainly won't hurt.
So I will definitely keep this in mind in the future. Thanks for the heads up!
Please don't think I'm harping on you. You're doing fine, and I completely understand there was no malicious intent. Everything you did was correct, and under normal circumstances I wouldn't even bother to say anything.
We had problems with the Meagan Foster/Billie Lurk reveal for a while after D2 came out and collectively, the admin tried to keep spoilers out of comments for a bit. Since the novel isn't as revealing as the game, it won't be as long (maybe something like three weeks or so).
Thanks for your contributions, your understanding, and your patience. They are appreciated. :)
Thank you for marking the duplicate page for deletion as that helps us with the content for the wiki. :)
However, I would ask for the future that you not delete all of the content on the page so that it may be examined and then determined in anything, such as notes, references, or trivia needs to be copied from one to the other.
ps. I do understand that it was just a mistake that a duplicate was made. I have done this as well, so no worries. :)
Thanks for the explanation (and the understanding), will do so in the future.
Didn't think of keeping the content there, since adding it in the first place was my own mistake, and there wasn't anything obviously new, and I wasn't sure of the procedure. But I will definitely take your suggestion to heart and take more care in the future.
I also wanted to thank you for your contributions, especially tackling that HUGE Heart Quotes page for D2. While I enjoy reading the quotes and appreciate the outstanding work done by others, I personally avoid messing with that page like it was the Rat Plague. :P
