Ivan's Last Letter is a written note found in Death of the Outsider.

Transcript[]

First Version[]

My Devoted Winstead,

If you’re reading this, I’ve passed on to the other side. My negligence gave the Outsider’s enemies the key to our most secret treasure. I failed him. Failed him, and failed my Eyeless comrades. My life has no purpose now. What joy can I find in lofty ambitions or earthy pleasures when the Void’s condemnation awaits me? No, I must look into its cold, eternal darkness and ask forgiveness. The vial of Eleuterio’s blood will hasten my journey there. Perhaps in the Void I’ll discover the means to redeem myself.

Thank you for your years of faithful service. You’ve been my closest confidante, dear to me as a brother. Bury me in the gray cashmere suit and do what you will with the rest of my belongings. None of it matters now.

-Ivan Jacobi

Second Version[]

My Devoted Winstead,

If you’re reading this, I’ve passed on to the other side. My negligence gave the Outsider’s enemies the key to our most secret treasure. I failed him. Failed him, and failed my Eyeless comrades. My life has no purpose now. Jorge destroyed my lofty ambitions with his headlines. Soon, the Grand Guard will arrest me for murder. Better to face the Void’s wrath now and forever, on my own terms. I must look into its cold, eternal darkness and ask forgiveness.

Thank you for your years of faithful service. You’ve been my closest confidante, dear to me as a brother. I’ll hang myself so you won’t have to clean up a bloody mess. Bury me in the gray cashmere suit and do what you will with the rest of my belongings. None of it matters now.

-Ivan Jacobi

Location[]

This note can be found on a desk in Jacobi's office in the Upper Cyria District during the mission The Bank Job. The first version will appear if Jacobi was left alive after stealing his key in Follow the Ink. The second version will replace it if he was also framed for Cienfuegos' murder.
