Griff

Griff is a survivor living at Dunwall's Distillery District. He is first encountered during the mission "High Overseer Campbell", in which he is barricaded in the fishmonger shop by two thugs from the Bottle Street Gang seeking to extort money from him.

If Corvo Attano dispatches the two thugs and destroys the barricade, Griff will sell Corvo supplies and upgrades through his shop, Griff's Curio Shop, two of which are blueprints. Later, Griff can be encountered doing the same in "House of Pleasure".

Trivia

• When the Heart is used on Griff, it explains that he was imprisoned in Dunwall Tower for five years, before he escaped and changed his name.
• Griff knows who Corvo is behind his mask, but he pretends that he does not.
• If not saved in the second mission, he can later be encountered as a weeper.
• The price of Griff's wares are significantly higher than that of Piero Joplin and have less variation. This is presumably because he would need the money to survive, due to his scavenging habits.
• It is difficult to find the right moment to save Griff unseen without a fully upgraded Bend Time, but if Corvo places himself on the low wall that overlooks the thugs, he can shoot one as they walk around the corner and then the other, without being detected.
  • He can also be saved unseen by simply waiting for the thugs to walk apart and quickly choking them both before they return. This process can be sped up by throwing bottles, which can be found nearby, to distract the thugs and lure one into the next alley.
