Bartholomeus Vasco

Doctor Bartholomeus Vasco is a minor character in Dishonored 2. He was a student at the Academy of Natural Philosophy, the best of his class, and later recruited by Alexandria Hypatia to be her assistant at the Addermire Institute. He can be found during the mission The Good Doctor.

Dishonored 2

Vasco can be found in the Recuperation Area, mortally wounded. If Corvo Attano or Emily Kaldwin speaks to him, Vasco reveals that Hypatia is the Crown Killer and responsible for his condition. He reveals that Hypatia is not herself and begs the protagonist to save her. After Vasco gives the protagonist the combination to his safe, the Crown Killer hurls a shelf through the room, trapping the protagonist underneath it. Vasco attempts to flee through the breach created by the shelf, but is killed by Grim Alex.

Should Hypatia turn into Grim Alex without the protagonist having spoken or otherwise interacting with Vasco, Vasco will die from his injuries. In this case, the protagonist can loot the safe combination from his corpse.

Trivia

• It is possible to keep Vasco alive through the mission by sedating him with sleep darts or chloroform bottles before addressing him and before Hypatia turns into Grim Alex. Nevertheless the Heart says that Vasco will never see his family again, thus implying that he dies shortly afterwards.
