The Splash Screen when entering the District.
The Distillery District is a rural area of Dunwall that has become very rundown due to effects of the plague. It is home to a security checkpoint leading up to the overseers compoud, a brothel and a whiskey distillery. The district continues much of the Victorian esq architecture that is seen throughout Dunwall.
On first entering the District you notice a moderate amound of guards and a moderate amount of citizens wandering the streets. The districts security checkpoint at this time also includes a wall of light to seperate the slummier housing from the more middle class housing like that of the artist and doctor. The slummier side of the district seems more or less ignored by the guards, only being there to defend the checkpoint, letting the Bottle Street Gang take control of the streets. On the other side of the checkpoing there are many more guards wandering freely about the middle class housing, showing much more preference in defending those of some worth to the Lord Regent than to those who will contribute nothing to him.

When returning to the District for a second time security seems to have heightened since your last visit. There are many more guards partolling and a newly installed automated turred guarding the Bridge from any intruders. There are a distinct lack of citizens on the streets and a more tightly controled band of the Bottle Street Gang conrtolling the back alleys. There are also a large amount of Weepers in a unused area of the District, possibly the citizens that previously inhabited the District.

- The second time you enter the district, if you approach the backalley where you first met Griff on the ground you will be jumped by a group of 3 assassins, the same which killed the Empress, however if you sneak via the roof you can get the jump on them and take them all out without being detected.
